About the CoCo FujiNet PCB

CoCo FujiNet is an open source ESP32 PCB design by FujiNetWIFI, published on GitHub under the CERN-OHL-S-2.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 86 × 55.4 mm, with 22 components from 19 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the C529589, from the ESP32 family. Other key parts include the C969151. By type, the board carries 7 resistors, 3 connectors, 3 switches, 3 diodes, 3 capacitors and 2 ICs.

It belongs with the iot & wireless designs in this gallery, and the repository also holds 1 earlier revision of it.

Schematics and design files for FujiNet hardware

Rev0000 is a minor PCB revision on Rev000, changes include:

- No longer needed to bodge the A14 and A15 DIP switches to the ESP32 to detect the baud rate - Add 2N3904 transistor driver to CD pin on the serial port (currently unused in the firmware) - Remove copper ground planes under ESP32 anntenna area - Auto Start jumper is now normally open for Coco3 compatibility without the need to cut it first - Fix Pin 2 and Pin 40 silkscreen on the bottom of the board

CoCo FujiNet: common questions

What microcontroller does the CoCo FujiNet use?

The CoCo FujiNet is built around the C529589, from the ESP32 family.

How big is the CoCo FujiNet PCB?

The CoCo FujiNet measures 86 × 55.4 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the CoCo FujiNet?

22 components, from 19 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the CoCo FujiNet design files?

From the FujiNetWIFI/fujinet-hardware repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the CoCo FujiNet design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its CERN-OHL-S-2.0 license, which FujiNetWIFI chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the CoCo FujiNet without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
