The KiCad project lives in the greatscottgadgets/hackrf-pro repository on GitHub; these links point at the commit this page was built from.

Hackrf pro: common questions

What microcontroller does the Hackrf pro use?

The Hackrf pro is built around the ICE40UP5K-SG48ITR, from the FPGA family.

How big is the Hackrf pro PCB?

The Hackrf pro measures 120 × 75 mm, has 6 copper layers and is 1.5848 mm thick.

How many components are on the Hackrf pro?

503 components, from 121 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Hackrf pro design files?

From the greatscottgadgets/hackrf-pro repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Hackrf pro design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its CERN-OHL-P-2.0 license, which greatscottgadgets chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Hackrf pro without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug FPGA firmware against it before you order a PCB.
