About the Kicad encoder PCB

Kicad encoder is an open source PCB design by horychen, published on GitHub under the GPL-3.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 73.4 × 33.3 mm, with 64 components from 11 distinct parts.

Other key parts include the DS3486M and SN74HC365D. By type, the board carries 33 capacitors, 24 resistors, 3 ICs and 1 connector.

It belongs with the robotics & motion and sensors designs in this gallery.

From the project

12 phase motor drive including inverter, microcontroller-mother-board, sensing, communication, DAC, etc.

ProjectEureka seeks to streamline the intricate design of robot systems, including communication, cable arrangements, and synchronization, by integrating several motor drivers (up to four) with a single microcontroller (DSP2837xD). This can also be utilized as a testing platform for bearingless motor or any other kind of AC motors. Kicad encoder: common questions

How big is the Kicad encoder PCB?

The Kicad encoder measures 73.4 × 33.3 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Kicad encoder?

64 components, from 11 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Kicad encoder design files?

From the horychen/ProjectEureka repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Kicad encoder design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its GPL-3.0 license, which horychen chose for the repository.
