Its main chip is the STM32F103C8Tx, from the STM32 family. Other key parts include the LM2902, TL494, SN65HVD232, LM2904 and AP1117-33. By type, the board carries 42 resistors, 41 capacitors, 7 ICs, 7 diodes, 5 transistors and 4 connectors.

It belongs with the audio and displays & leds designs in this gallery.

From the project

Modular Electronics Workstation

The ModLab is designed to be housed in a 19" Rack with 3U. It is the improved version of the (failed) Arduino Workstation I built a long time ago.

But now It will be bigger, better and way too complicated.

Power SMPS: common questions

What microcontroller does the Power SMPS use?

The Power SMPS is built around the STM32F103C8Tx, from the STM32 family.

How big is the Power SMPS PCB?

The Power SMPS measures 160 × 100 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Power SMPS?

112 components, from 53 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Power SMPS design files?

From the Synthron/ModLab repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Power SMPS design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with Synthron. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Power SMPS without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug STM32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
