About the Clean room slave PCB

Clean room slave is an open source ESP32 PCB design by trieuhuyduc, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 165 × 110 mm, with 207 components from 125 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ESP32-WROOM-32, from the ESP32 family. Other key parts include the RTC_DS3231M, XL1509, AMS1117, LM317_SOT-223 and MOC3021. By type, the board carries 74 resistors, 42 capacitors, 16 transistors, 14 ICs, 11 connectors and 10 diodes.

From the project

ESP32-based slave controller board for cleanroom equipment — RS485/Modbus, isolated I/O, 220V mains control (KiCad)

An ESP32-WROOM-32 based slave controller board for cleanroom equipment, designed in KiCad with RS485/Modbus industrial communication, digitally isolated I/O, and a 220 V mains control stage. Designed by Triệu Huy Đức.

Status: design complete, pre-production review in progress — not yet released to fabrication. See Project Status below; this is deliberate, not an oversight — the review that caught the remaining issues is part of what this repo documents.

The KiCad project lives in the trieuhuyduc/Clean_room_slave repository on GitHub; these links point at the commit this page was built from.

Clean room slave: common questions

What microcontroller does the Clean room slave use?

The Clean room slave is built around the ESP32-WROOM-32, from the ESP32 family.

How big is the Clean room slave PCB?

The Clean room slave measures 165 × 110 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Clean room slave?

207 components, from 125 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Clean room slave design files?

From the trieuhuyduc/Clean_room_slave repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Clean room slave design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with trieuhuyduc. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Clean room slave without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
