About the Robotpcbv1 PCB

Robotpcbv1 is an open source ESP32 PCB design by NIKOLAI-GOGOL444, published on GitHub under the Apache-2.0 license. It is a 4-layer board measuring 52.1 × 52.1 mm, with 85 components from 49 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ESP32-S3-WROOM-1, from the ESP32 family. Other key parts include the nRF24L01P, CP2102N-Axx-xQFN24, RFX2401C, AP63203WU and DRV8833PWP. By type, the board carries 36 capacitors, 20 resistors, 11 ICs, 5 diodes, 4 connectors and 4 inductors.

It belongs with the robotics & motion and dev boards & breakouts designs in this gallery.

From the project

im working on a mini swerve drive train. so far ive cadded mini swerve modules. more coming soon, especially since its summer now and ill have more time :-p

IMPORTANT NOTE FOR OUTPOST REVIEWERS: please ignore the pcb stuff in my BOM.CSV and files and stuff. I do not have a pcb design yet, so I will not be requesting funding for that part of this project, and will request for it as a sepreate project at a later time. NEW NOTE: I have edited the BOM.csv file to exclude pcb stuff.

IMPORTANT NOTE FOR HORIZONS REVIEWERS: NOTE: i am ONLY trying to submit the CONTROLLER pcb right now. all my hours have been working on that, do not reject my project under the robot pcb stuff not being in here, thats because it isnt finished yet, ill submit that at a…

Robotpcbv1: common questions

What microcontroller does the Robotpcbv1 use?

The Robotpcbv1 is built around the ESP32-S3-WROOM-1, from the ESP32 family.

How big is the Robotpcbv1 PCB?

The Robotpcbv1 measures 52.1 × 52.1 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.62 mm thick.

How many components are on the Robotpcbv1?

85 components, from 49 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Robotpcbv1 design files?

From the NIKOLAI-GOGOL444/mini-swerve-drive-train repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Robotpcbv1 design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its Apache-2.0 license, which NIKOLAI-GOGOL444 chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Robotpcbv1 without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
