About the BIMU V 1 PCB

BIMU V 1 is an open source ESP32 PCB design by robotique-udes, published on GitHub under the GPL-2.0 license. It is a 4-layer board measuring 40 × 35 mm, with 45 components from 23 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ESP32-C3, from the ESP32 family. Other key parts include the AP7361C-33E, SN65HVD232DR and LSM6DSV16BXTR. By type, the board carries 16 capacitors, 13 resistors, 6 diodes, 4 ICs, 3 connectors and 2 switches.

It belongs with the sensors designs in this gallery.

From the project

This repo contains all the information about the PCB and electrical schematics of Biogenius.

BIMU V 1: common questions

What microcontroller does the BIMU V 1 use?

The BIMU V 1 is built around the ESP32-C3, from the ESP32 family.

How big is the BIMU V 1 PCB?

The BIMU V 1 measures 40 × 35 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the BIMU V 1?

45 components, from 23 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the BIMU V 1 design files?

From the robotique-udes/Exo_Electric repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the BIMU V 1 design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its GPL-2.0 license, which robotique-udes chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the BIMU V 1 without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
