About the Dragon64 PCB

Dragon64 is an open source PCB design by danwerner21, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 333.2 × 205.9 mm, with 220 components from 105 distinct parts.

Other key parts include the 74LS244, LM393, 4050, 6821 and 4529. By type, the board carries 77 capacitors, 70 resistors, 37 ICs, 12 diodes, 5 connectors and 4 inductors.

From the project

A clone board for the Dragon64 and Tandy Color Computer

The schematic capture is complete, and I've done one full verification pass. But I'm still making no promises about correctness! I've uploaded a PDF for those without access to KiCad.

A lot of the PCB positioning is now correct - at least to the nearest mm, usually better - and everything's pointing in a sensible direction with the exception of some diodes: Dragon Data ensured they always had the cathode to the right, presumably to avoid manufacturing confusion, and I've preserved that decision.

Dragon64: common questions

How big is the Dragon64 PCB?

The Dragon64 measures 333.2 × 205.9 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Dragon64?

220 components, from 105 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Dragon64 design files?

From the danwerner21/Dragon64 repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Dragon64 design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with danwerner21. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
