Ever wanted to get somewhere from anywhere? Waypoint uses GNSS to guide you towards your destination by showing the direction, distance, and elevation difference. It does not provide turn-by-turn routes, but instead gives you all the other needed informations to navigate independently.

It is powered by a 3200mAh LiPo battery, an efficient MCU, and separated power domains to achieve long battery life.

Waypoint: common questions

What microcontroller does the Waypoint use?

The Waypoint is built around the ESP32-C6-WROOM-1-N8, from the ESP32 family.

How big is the Waypoint PCB?

The Waypoint measures 140 × 80 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.609 mm thick.

How many components are on the Waypoint?

129 components, from 53 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Waypoint design files?

From the M-Mrk/waypoint repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Waypoint design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with M-Mrk. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Waypoint without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
