Its main chip is the ESP-WROOM-32, from the ESP32 family. Other key parts include the BL4054B-42TPRN(SOT23-5), SY8089AAAC(SOT23-5), LAN8710A-EZC(QFN32), CH340T(SSOP20W) and SIT1050T(SOIC-8_150mil). By type, the board carries 58 resistors, 32 capacitors, 11 ICs, 10 diodes, 6 transistors and 5 LEDs.

It belongs with the iot & wireless, power & battery and dev boards & breakouts designs in this gallery.

From the project

ESP32 WiFi / BLE Development board with Ethernet interface, Relays, microSD card

- revision A - internal, not released - revision B - initial public release - revision C - changes:

1. MicroUSB connector moved back, 40 mils to the middle of the board. 2. All mounting holes are now connected to GND. 3. Improved the ground layer around the infra red's pads and wires.

1. Changed R38 from 10k/0603 to 100k/0603 to lower the time without clock 2. Changed C28 from 100n/0603 to 10n/0603 to increase the time in reset

ESP32-EVB: common questions

What microcontroller does the ESP32-EVB use?

The ESP32-EVB is built around the ESP-WROOM-32, from the ESP32 family.

How big is the ESP32-EVB PCB?

The ESP32-EVB measures 75.2 × 74.7 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the ESP32-EVB?

157 components, from 74 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the ESP32-EVB design files?

From the OLIMEX/ESP32-EVB repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the ESP32-EVB design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its Apache-2.0 license, which OLIMEX chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the ESP32-EVB without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
