About the WeatherRing PCB
WeatherRing is an open source ESP32 PCB design by hackclub, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 100 Γ 100 mm, with 143 components from 6 distinct parts.
Its main chip is the XIAO-ESP32-S3-DIP, from the ESP32 family. By type, the board carries 69 diodes, 69 capacitors, 2 resistors, 1 IC, 1 connector and 1 switch.
It belongs with the displays & leds designs in this gallery.

the AHT20 and touchpads aren't supported in Wokwi so i plan to implement and update it when I get it using this library
This board contains a line of 9 pixels surrounded by 2 rings of 24 and 36 pixels. The pixels are meant to display different animations depending on the current weather retrieved from Open-Meteo.com's API. It can also go through the forecast of the day with the rotary encoder.

WeatherRing: common questions
What microcontroller does the WeatherRing use?
The WeatherRing is built around the XIAO-ESP32-S3-DIP, from the ESP32 family.
How big is the WeatherRing PCB?
The WeatherRing measures 100 Γ 100 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.
How many components are on the WeatherRing?
143 components, from 6 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the WeatherRing design files?
From the hackclub/pixeldust repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the WeatherRing design in my own project?
The repository has no license, so all rights stay with hackclub. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
Can I test firmware for the WeatherRing without the hardware?
Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
