Its main chip is the ESP32-S3-WROOM-1-N4, from the ESP32 family. Other key parts include the AP63203WU-7, TPS2553DBVR, USBLC6-2SC6, TLV803EA30DBZR and RV-3032-C7-32.768KHZ-2.5PPM-TA-QA. By type, the board carries 105 resistors, 41 capacitors, 25 ICs, 11 diodes, 6 connectors and 4 switches.

It belongs with the rf & radio designs in this gallery.

From the project

Active KiCad 10 sources are CTRL.kicadpro, CTRL.kicadsch and CTRL.kicadpcb, with local ARDFCTL libraries. M6-L1 closes the optional Silicontra 433/868 MHz nominal package, pin-map, population and RF-feed review on the M6-C1R1 electrical baseline. One PCB supports NOLORA, LORA433

The 5.25 × 0.45 mm signal feed is retained; a small top-ground intrusion in the Hirose underbody keep-out is corrected. See the review package and decision.

ARDF-TX UNIVERSAL CONTROLLER: common questions

What microcontroller does the ARDF-TX UNIVERSAL CONTROLLER use?

The ARDF-TX UNIVERSAL CONTROLLER is built around the ESP32-S3-WROOM-1-N4, from the ESP32 family.

How big is the ARDF-TX UNIVERSAL CONTROLLER PCB?

The ARDF-TX UNIVERSAL CONTROLLER measures 100 × 100 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the ARDF-TX UNIVERSAL CONTROLLER?

197 components, from 63 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the ARDF-TX UNIVERSAL CONTROLLER design files?

From the DD1SB/ARDF-TX repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the ARDF-TX UNIVERSAL CONTROLLER design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which DD1SB chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the ARDF-TX UNIVERSAL CONTROLLER without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
